Code Using Robots Workshops - Coming Soon

Our Code Using Robots program consists of four modules. Module 1: Geometry - is an introductory module to coding with emphasis on math and Geometry. Module 2: Time, Speed & Distance - expands into STEM concepts and allows our Coaches to introduce ideas, concepts and skills that relate to their professional field of expertise. Module 3 & 4: Explorers - allow participants to tap into their creative side. New coding functions and fun programs are introduced each week with increasing complexity followed by a final Show Case at the end of each module where participants present their programs to parents and peers.

Our Module 1: Geometry program is a fun, interactive, educational and introductory workshop to coding. Participants learn to code using a robot from the first workshop all-the-while solving problems and applying geometry and math fundamentals. Coding is fun but coding with robots add a new dimension to play learning. Together with the Sphero robot, participants explore shapes, sizes, angles and properties of space in the Geometry program, but not before learning about our three-dimensional world, how to use a compass and navigation works.

The workshops are structured to ensure progressive learning and the application of new skills in each session. It is suitable for beginners aged 7 to 12. Programs are offered on weekends during school term or intensive workshops during school holidays. We also work with schools and can offer workshops during school terms on weekdays. Our Code Using Robots program go beyond coding. The workshops were designed to emphasise, as well as assist participants to understand, the importance of math fundamentals and numbers. It also integrates Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) concepts to school Learning Areas. Coding expose kids to logic, problem solving and critical thinking but more importantly teaches kids how to think; an important skill to learn in this digital age.

Parents are encouraged to attend with their children but not essential. Each participant is assigned an individual robot to use during the workshops. Learning materials are provided. Workshops are limited to 12 participants.

All workshops are facilitated by professionals with a STEM background.

* iOS - Requires iOS 8+. iPad 2 does not support Bluetooth Smart robots

* Android - Requires 4.4+. Some 4.4+ devices do not support Bluetooth Smart robots

* Kindle - Requires Fire OS 5.0+ running on Kindle Fire 2015, Fire HD 6, Fire HD 8 or Fire HD 10
